Aluminum sulfate is not volatile and flammable, but it is highly acidic. When mixed in water-soluble form, it is acidic and PH can reach to less than 2.

 

Production Process

 

There are two commonly used methods for producing aluminum sulfate: 1: adding aluminum hydroxide to sulfuric acid and 2: heating metal aluminum in sulfuric acid solution.

The aluminum sulfate solution is corrosive, so it is recommended that containers, pipes and fittings adjacent to the aluminum sulfate solution are made of plastic materials, fiberglass, stainless steel or other acid-resistant materials.
